Pole Fitness for Beginners in Hyderabad: What to Expect in Your First Class
If you have been searching for pole fitness classes in Hyderabad and quietly wondering “Can I actually do this?”, you are in good company. Most people who walk into a first class have never touched a pole, are not sure they are strong or flexible enough, and feel a little nervous about it. That is normal, and it is exactly what a beginner class is designed for.
This guide walks through what to expect, what to wear, and how to book your first session at Aer Goddess. We teach in Narsingi, close to Gachibowli, so it is written with beginners in that part of Hyderabad in mind. If you are still comparing studios, our practical guide to choosing pole classes in Hyderabad covers what to look for.
The short version: your first class is free. It is a Saturday group class of 60 minutes, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, for up to 4 people. A refundable 1,500 INR deposit is paid when you book your spot and refunded after you attend the full class in person.

What is pole fitness?
Pole fitness is a workout that uses a vertical pole to build strength, balance and coordination, mixed with dance-style movement. Many people come for fitness and stay because they enjoy it. You work on spins, simple holds and climbs, and you move at your own pace.
Do I need to be fit, strong or flexible to start?
No, you do not need to be fit, strong or flexible to start. You do not need the splits, a pull-up or any dance background. Beginner classes start with basics: how to grip, how to stand and walk around the pole, and simple spins. Strength and flexibility build over time. A good instructor adjusts moves to your level on the day. Our guide on whether you need to be flexible or strong to start pole fitness goes into this in more detail.
What happens in a first class?
A first class has four parts: a warm-up, pole basics, a few simple moves and a cool-down.
Warm-up. Light movement to wake up your shoulders, wrists, hips and core.
Pole basics. Your instructor shows you how to hold the pole and move around it safely.
A few simple moves. Usually a spin or two and a basic hold, built step by step.
Cool-down and stretch. Gentle stretching to finish.
The free Saturday group class runs for 60 minutes, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, with up to 4 people. A refundable 1,500 INR deposit is paid when you book your spot and refunded after you attend the full class in person. The private 1:1 class runs for 75 minutes. In a 1:1 class the whole session is paced around you. You can ask questions as you go and repeat a move as many times as you like.

What should I wear to my first pole class?
Wear fitted shorts and a sports top, because bare skin on your legs and arms helps you grip the pole. The rest of the list:
Fitted shorts and a sports top or fitted vest. Bare skin on the legs and arms helps with grip on the pole.
Leggings are fine on day one if you feel more comfortable, though your grip will be weaker.
No lotion, oil or body butter on class day. It makes the pole slippery.
Remove rings, bracelets and long necklaces.
Tie your hair back and bring a water bottle and a small towel.
If you are not comfortable in shorts yet, say so when you book. Start in what feels right and move toward more skin contact later.
Will it hurt? Bruises and sore muscles
Mild soreness and small bruises are normal, and sharp pain is not. Expect sore arms, shoulders and core the next day. Small bruises on the legs or arms, often called “pole kisses”, are common while your skin gets used to the pole. They usually fade and tend to appear less as you learn technique. If you feel sharp pain, stop and tell your instructor. Pole fitness is physical, and like any strength activity it carries some risk of strain, which is one reason learning with proper guidance matters. If you have an existing shoulder, wrist or back issue, or you are pregnant, check with your doctor first.
Is pole fitness good for weight loss?
Pole can be part of a weight-loss routine, but we cannot promise a number. It combines strength work and cardio. Results depend on how often you train, your food and sleep, and your body. We would rather be honest than promise a number: treat it as a way to build strength and enjoy moving, not a quick fix.
Which class should you pick as a beginner?
Start with the free Saturday group class to try pole at no class fee, or book a private 1:1 class if you want full attention. Aer Goddess offers three ways to start:

A refundable 1,500 INR deposit is paid when you book your spot and refunded after you attend the full class in person. Places are limited to 4 per session.
Private 1:1 class (75 minutes, 1,700 INR per class). Full attention, pace set by you, easy to ask questions. Good if you feel shy, are completely new, or have a specific goal. Packages bring the price down per class: 4 classes for 6,400 INR, 6 for 9,500 INR, 8 for 12,000 INR.
Gym class (60 minutes, 2,000 INR per class, at Vyb Active). More energetic and social, held at the Vyb Active gym.
